And now for something completely different…
In case you missed it, ChatGPT—an AI chatbot developed by OpenAI that is designed to respond to natural language queries—launched last November. And since then, the Internet has been abuzz with its handiwork as ChatGPT has been tasked with researching articles, debugging code, decorating rooms, and even writing an original script for Seinfeld!
Recently, our friend Kevin at Aptima asked ChatGPT to write a poem about heat stress, and this was the result:
Heat Stress
Heat stress creeps up slow and sly,
An invisible enemy, in the sweltering sky,
It weighs you down with a heavy hand,
And drains your strength like shifting sand.
It starts with a sweat that won’t stop,
A pounding heart that’s hard to top,
You feel dizzy, disoriented, and weak,
As your body temperature starts to peak.
Your thoughts slow down, your vision fades,
You struggle to focus on simple shades,
Your breath comes short, your skin turns red,
As you battle a foe that’s in your head.
Heat stress is a cruel and cunning beast,
That robs you of comfort and steals your peace,
But if you listen to the warning signs,
You can beat it back and leave it behind.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay aware,
And always know when it’s time to share,
The burden of work in the blazing heat,
So you can stay safe, and on your feet.

Well, it’s not Wordsworth, but it’s a pretty impressive example of artificial intelligence at work!
While this is a fun poem, heat stress is something we take very seriously at VigiLife. That’s why we’ve developed SafeGuard, an intelligent guardian platform that can monitor physiological data (body temperature, heart rate) and environmental factors (ambient heat, oxygen levels) to provide a proactive line of defense against dehydration and heat stroke.
If you’d like to learn more about how SafeGuard can help keep your workers safe, give us a call or drop us an e-mail!
